We are a well-established manufacturing company seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Finance management
- Manage the day-to-day finance function, including general ledger
- Manage assistant responsible for accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Analyse manufacturing costs, margins, and variances, providing clear financial insights
- Oversee cash flow management and working capital
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Coordinate year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Support senior management with financial planning and commercial analysis
- Improve financial controls, processes, and reporting system
- Responsible for all VAT declarations, UK and German registrations
Human Ressources
- Collect, check and record the payroll elements in the HR system on a weekly and monthly basis
- Payroll production and payment:
- In the short term: payroll production using the current HR system
- In the future: outsourcing of this task is under analysis, requiring interaction with future subcontractor as well as control & validation of the payroll before payment
- Hiring : preparation of employment contracts with assistance from our legal counsel for complex situations
- Dealing with day to day HR issues/disputes as required
Health & Safety supervision
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, documentation and H&S action plan by managing the person in charge of these activities
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and stock valuation
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and budgets
- Minimum HR experience
- A management experience would be appreciated
- Confident using ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical ability with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Foreign Languages : the ability to speak some French would be of benefit
